The Summer of the year they turn eighteen, just before they start their final year, Natasha tells Clint they have to stop seeing each other. He wants to fight for her, but only hears about her in passing through their friends. She comes back to school with her lovely red hair cut off abruptly mid-collar, and he can’t help but feel like that’s how they ended, blunt and sudden, with no real reason. She’s beautiful, and he can’t keep his eyes off her.
